Correct answer: a) Type I endoleak

Read more on types of endoleak (I –  V) and a few tips on EVAR. TEVAR is being preferred over surgical repair of aortic aneurysms and aortic dissections in several cases. In case of aortic dissection, entering the true lumen may be challenging as it is often smaller than the false lumen.

The term endoleak is used to denote leakage of blood into the aortic disease which was excluded from the blood stream by the stent graft. This could be a false lumen in case of aortic dissection or the thrombus containing aneurysm cavity outside the stent graft. Significant endoleaks can leads to progressive enlargement of the affected pathological region and even rupture.
